It was really helpful speaking with the teams at Halifax JobCentre who support people here in Calderdale to find work, as well as hear about the challenges they face.
The Government is committed to supporting people into work – many of whom want to work but are currently locked out.
That is why this Labour Government has announced that the JobCentre will be transformed into a new national jobs and careers service, while introducing local work, health and skills plans to give people the support they need.
It is welcome that as part of these new plans, devolved authorities will be given more power to ensure local work, health, and skills support is joined up, providing an offer that gets to the heart of issues causing unemployment.
