Meeting the clubs
Meeting the clubs' Directors with local Councillors

Following the recent financial announcement from Halifax Panthers, I arranged to meet with the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Halifax Panthers and our local councillors. I share their concerns regarding the future of the club, and will be working with them as much as possible to do everything I can to help. The club is at the heart of our community and I know how much it means to the people of Halifax and league fans everywhere.

I am pleased the club has now settled the remainder of the HMRC bill that was subject to the winding up petition due last Wednesday. While this safeguards the club’s immediate future, there is still a lot of work to be done to tackle the long-term financial challenges facing the club.

I have since been in touch with Lisa Nandy, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, and Steph Peacock MP, Sports Minister, asking for further guidance on additional help for the club. I will share any updates in due course.

With only 1 remaining home game this season, which is against Bradford Bulls on Sunday 22nd September, Panthers urge all fans, especially those who haven’t been to The Shay in some time, to mark the date in the calendar and turn up in force.
