Lots of constituents have been in touch with me recently to highlight the awful survival statistics for those who are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. We have to do better.

While we have made much progress in recent decades in better treatments and research for some of the more common cancers, we have not made the same progress for some of the less common cancers like pancreatic.

It was good to meet with Pancreatic Cancer UK and discuss how we can work together to drive sorely needed improvements for everyone facing pancreatic cancer.

I’ll be doing all I can to push progress in this area. Cutting NHS waiting times and having earlier diagnosis is also key, as this Labour Government is committed to.
