It was great to catch up with David at the impressive Calderdale College recently. We discussed the opportunities they provide for young people and adults in further education, as well as wider education policy.

I know constituents want the next generation to have the opportunity to pick up a trade and get on in life. Labour are taking skills seriously, forming the bedrock of our mission-driven government with our launch of Skills England which will play a crucial role in finding and filling skills gaps across the country.

The college offers a range of brilliant courses including T Levels, apprenticeships and degree courses, as well as sport academies, a specialist Engineering and Manufacturing Centre and plenty more.
