I got to spend a night volunteering with the Halifax Street Angels! Halifax Street Angels are a charity working in Halifax Town Centre and Sowerby Bridge Friday and Saturday evenings to meet the needs of those who have become vulnerable on a night out.

They work to meet the needs of those who have been spiked, are victims of crime or those who have had too much to drink and as a consequence are in need of our support.

Halifax leads the way for a safe night out in the region and has been awarded the Purple Flag award for the 14th year running. The award recognises excellence in the management of the evening and night-time economy.

The ongoing commitment by brilliant partners such as Halifax Street Angels and the Police ensures Halifax is a safe, fun, diverse place to visit on a night.

Thanks to all the volunteers for their work all year round! I had a great night and met some fantastic people who give so much back to our community!
