This week, I paid a visit to Halifax Boxing Club and met with community legend, Head Coach and Founder Mick Rowe. Mick has done some amazing work across North Halifax, providing a space for young people to learn, train and grow as individuals.

His boxing training has set up young people with jobs, life skills and an unparalleled sense of community spirit, as he talks about in the video! The team at Halifax Boxing Club have dedicated so many years to supporting the Calderdale community and are now looking at expanding to house a new School Education Centre.

Thank you to Dom Furby for introducing me to the team. Dom is also a local legend, constantly advocating for Mick and other local sports clubs. He regularly gets local rugby teams down to the club to train.

I wish Mick the best of luck, I cant wait to see what the club does next. I am extremely proud to have such a great community hub in North Halifax!
