I’m thrilled to announce that Bankfield Museum in Boothtown has been awarded nearly £450,000 in government funding this week to support essential repairs!
This significant investment is part of the UK’s £270 million Arts Everywhere Fund, aimed at preserving and enhancing our cherished cultural institutions.

Museums like Bankfield are invaluable assets to Halifax and its communities. This funding will enable the museum to restore sections of its roof and undertake vital window repairs, ensuring the preservation of our rich local history for future generations.
Currently, Bankfield Museum is hosting the “Costume Drama” exhibition, showcasing iconic costumes from beloved film and TV productions such as “Pride and Prejudice,” “Bridgerton,” “Downton Abbey,” and “Gentleman Jack,” which was filmed right here in Halifax!
