It was a real pleasure to present St Augustine’s Primary School with their School of Sanctuary award.

This award recognises schools that go above and beyond in creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for those seeking sanctuary. St Augustine’s is only the second school in Calderdale to receive this award – a truly remarkable achievement.

I’m incredibly proud of the commitment shown by both staff and students in building a culture of compassion, inclusion, and support. The impact of their work will be felt in children’s lives for years to come.
