Brilliant night at the David Moffatt Memorial Fundraiser!
It was great to be at Stod Fold Dean Clough last night for a fantastic evening in support of the David Moffatt Halifax Memorial Fund.
David Moffatt was one of the ten men who took part in Operation Frankton in 1942 – the daring canoe raid carried out by the Cockleshell Heroes behind enemy lines in WWII. It’s a mission that’s said to have shortened the war by six months. David was born and raised here in Halifax, and this event was all about honouring his legacy and helping bring a memorial to his hometown.
The atmosphere was brilliant, and we were treated to two powerful songs written specially about the mission. And of course, the Landlubbers were on top form – their sea shanties had the place buzzing!
Huge thanks to everyone who came along, donated, and helped make the night happen. ![]()
